The throttle body controls the volume of air entering the engine in response to accelerator pedal input. Modern electronic throttle bodies use a motor and position sensor instead of a cable. Carbon build-up, sensor failure, or motor faults cause rough idle, poor throttle response, and limp mode.
Throttle body problems
Throttle body issues are among the most common driveability complaints. Carbon deposits restrict airflow, and sensor faults confuse the engine management system.
